Tozando has created a new kind of aikido gi using an innovative fiber called Unitika Pulper, combining the strengths of polyester and cotton. The fabric is treated with a plant called Yomogi or Japanese mugwort (Artememisia princeps) known for its antibacterial and anti-odour effects.
This aikido gi is made in the traditional way by Tozando tailors in Iwate, Japan.
This aikidogi with reinforced collar and shoulders is made in the traditional way. The tough, heavy-duty fabric is thin, light and flexible enough to stay comfortable in the hottest months of the year.
Unitika Pulper fiber is 60% cotton and 40% polyester. The softness and moisture-absorbing properties of cotton are combined with the strength and quick-drying properties of polyester. Thanks to the Yomogi process, this aikidogi has gained natural protection against bacteria and odors without losing its softness and comfort on the skin.
