Choosing your kimono belt: a question of grade and size
A belt isn’t just a question of aesthetics. Above all, it’s a symbol of your rank. Here’s a quick summary of color correspondences according to the judoka’s progression:
The size of your kimono belt should be chosen according to the following ratio: 2 x “waist circumference” + 95 cm (115 cm for the “piquée” version).
Let’s imagine… Your waist measurement is 80 cm. You should therefore opt for an accessory measuring around 255 cm or a 275 cm quilted belt.
