Your Karate kimono (karategi)
Ambitious athlete or beginner in the martial arts? Put on your karate kimono and get ready for battle! Flexibility, comfort, strength… Every aspect has been meticulously studied to provide you with a garment tailored to your needs. Daisho collaborates with the Tokaido brand, creator and pioneer of karategi, and also with Tozando and its Hayate brand, pure “made in Japan”.
Which Karate kimono to choose?
Choosing a karategi is not a matter of chance. There are a few criteria to consider if you want to take full advantage of its benefits:

Kimono size and fabric

A karate kimono is often worn wide to facilitate the wearer’s movements. Pants must cover the ⅔ of the shin and avoid being rolled up. As for the jacket, it must be adapted to the hips and sleeves.

Be careful! Most of the time, a 100% cotton garment is sensitive to shrinkage. If you prefer this material, we strongly advise you to choose an outfit half a size larger.

Example: you’re 1m65 tall. Choose a 170 or 175 cm karategi.

However, cotton has the advantage of being soft and non-irritating to the skin. Do you want excellent ventilation? Our composite kimonos should also satisfy you…
